Agency

Title of chapter: “Let’s Talk”

Fanfic or Fantasy: Fantasy

Time Period: 2073

Characters: CT, Annie, Ellen, Captain, and Mrs. Ward

A fresh scent lingered down the hall to the Captain’s office. Not only was there scents coming from the hall, but soft tapings of a computer keyboard. No doubt it was coming from the agency’s only secretary, Ellen. Ellen was a small mousey lady who was in her early to mid thirties. She was always very quiet and well mannered until the action needed to take place. The office is known for its terrible spider problem, and Ellen is the reigning champion of spider butt kicking.

Everything was absolutely quiet. Barely audible voices were being to increase in volume. They had to be talking extremely loudly because Ellen could hear the voices without seeing the people coming. Ellen kept starring at the hall door waiting it to be pulled open. Finally, the door was pulled, and two figures came through the door. One was yelling at another. The poor secretary gave a depressed shrug. The person yelling was CT, a tall and muscular Oriental male, and he was not running out of breathe anytime soon. “How could Captain choose you over me? Let’s face it, I am so much more qualified, and I could get the job done faster!” CT used his arms to demonstrate his confusion. “Do you even know what the mission is?” Annie asked. Annie was also tall, and she was surprised herself that Captain had chosen just her and not them both to the mission. CT knew that Annie had got him because he showed it in his facial expression. “No. O.k. I don’t know what the mission is, but whatever it is. I could do it better,” CT said rudely. “Maybe the Captain just realized how stupid you are. Uh-oh! Your secret is out, but then again, it’s kinda’ hard to hide something like that,” said Annie playfully.

“Could, perhaps, you lower your voices? The Captain is sleeping,” Ellen said in a quiet but stern tone similar to a mothers tone when a child is misbehaving. “Why is the Captain sleeping in his office?” Annie asked giving a facial expression of “that’s weird!” “His wife’s sister is staying at their house, and her sister’s husband is a mama’s boy. For example, he even went so far as to ask the Captain if he wanted to go bowling with him; therefore, the Captain is spending the absolute least time at his home as possible,” said Ellen who was absolutely amused with the story. “That reminds me of the time that his wife took Captain on a surprise camping trip. Mrs. Ward made Captain wear a blindfold all the way up to the camping grounds, and when she let him take it off, they were outside in front of their tent. As soon as Captain understood that his wife expected him too actually camp there, Captain took the keys right from Mrs. Ward’s hands and jumped into the car leaving Mrs. Ward at the camping ground. For about two weeks after, Captain had to stay at his office instead of coming home,” CT said almost crying he was laughing so hard. “Can we go in? I have to talk to Captain about why I didn’t get the mission.” “I assume so,” said Ellen sitting in her chair and began to type again.
